I mean … how cute is this? All these little (actually, not so little) fluffballs of grey down. Baby Canada Geese are so cute when still goslings, but these guys have lost quite a bit of their fluffy down already. You can see their feathers taking over. I came across a couple of families when strolling the waterfront today. I kept my distance, as I know how protective the parents are. Enter the problems of capturing live animals shots. I had a variety of options to use, all of which took time to switch from one setting to another. If the geese were stationary, an automatic setting worked if zooming in on a very small area of the composed image or wanting only one area to be in focus. Otherwise, the landscape setting helps to keep most of the image in focus. But with live animals, they tend to be in motion, and a faster shutter speed is better utilized. Best to just keep it on that setting. I tried a variety of settings just to be creative.
