Magical Glass Pumpkins!

010

Today I went to the Glass Pumpkin Patch, held each year by the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio. The local event was set up in the Point Defiance Park Japanese Garden Pavilion. What a feast for the eyes this event is! Glass pumpkins of all sizes, shapes, and colors for sale.

But the glass sculptures that fascinated me the most were the spooky, glass ghosts. Boy, were they cute!

While at the Japanese garden, I wandered around looking for some photogenic subjects, such as autumn leaves and such. The Japanese Maples are just starting to change into their autumn colors.

Lots of fallen, yellow leaves!

The Japanese Garden pond area. Yes, autumn is coming along quite nicely!

  1. Oh, I just adore those glass pumpkins. I know I wouldn’t be able to resist buying two or three. 🙂

Love the glass pumpkin patches. Don’t love the prices. Have you ever gone to their sale? Every December and…I think May…the glass studio has a big sale of their “seconds”. I went last December and picked up a couple of pumpkins for cheap and I couldn’t tell why they were “seconds.”

  3. My mother would have loved those glass pumpkins.

I’d go for the cute little ghosts!
